Bandages are an essential part of any first aid kit. One of the most used items in first aid kits in the workplace and beyond, bandages are vital in securing dressings in place to protect wounds from infection and are often used to support broken bones and dislocated joints.
When administering first aid, it’s important to identify if a bone has been broken or if a muscle has been strained. The affected area can then be secured with an appropriate bandage such as a tubular bandage, and where necessary a sling can be made from a triangular bandage.
Many of our bandages are designed to provide compression for bleeding wounds. Some bandages such as our conforming bandages are suitable for applying compression to areas already covered by a dressing to prevent bleeding, other bandages such as our high pressure bandages are suitable for absorbing excessive bleeding and applying strong compression to the affected area.
